Parents Of Woman Murdered By LAPD Officer Can’t Sue Department - CBS Los Angeles | Police Problems and Policy | Scoop.it
The parents of a woman murdered by a Los Angeles police officer in 1986 have lost their last attempt to sue the department over the way it handled the high-profile investigation.

This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say that we as society don't respect each other. I understand that they must be mourning the loss of their daughter, but suing the police department isnt going to bring her back. In fact it will only drag out the pain, the police didn't purposely get their daughter killed so why should the blame be placed on them. The blame shouldn't be placed on anyone but on the person who killed her. We have gotten so wrapped up thinking about how can I help myself that we never think about other people. 50 years ago, these parents would have invited everyone to come to the funeral and celebrate her life, not point fingers. We need to learn that sometimes justice can't always be served and when that is the case we can't go looking for it where it isn't.

Today, SQFT celebrates its launch by bringing a slice of life to a string of blocks in San Francisco's Mid-Market with a pop-up library, yoga studio, and cafe, among other temporary businesses...
