Internal Affairs: Neighbors can't get San Jose police to respond to break-ins

Internal Affairs: Neighbors can't get San Jose police to respond to break-ins | Police Problems and Policy | Scoop.it
What does it take to get a San Jose cop on a burglary case these days? The SJPD is woefully short-handed, its burglary unit fanned out to patrol while the city scrambles for new recruits as officers flee deficit-driven pay and benefit cuts.

Talk about piling the work high, i couldn't even imagine the hell it might be like to work in an environment with no leader and to be understaffed while being assaulted be people for not getting work done. Since this hit the press, crimes rates have probably been shy rocketing as well. "City treads lightly" its the dam cities fault for cutting spending on the police department in the first place! There solution is to find people will to work in those conditions? Why not improve the conditions so people want to work there? That or explain to the citizens that they will just have to take the law into there own hands. I don't see a solution to this problem other than getting more money for the PD.
