When I imagine a guardian angel, this is what I imagine...kind, gentle...but an S.O.B. if you're trying to hurt someone.

Even more than being a good police officer, I think this is a good example of being a good person, especially in a place as impersonal as New York. The fact that it is a police officer doing it does however help to assuage the negative media view that is more commonly shown to Police officers. I would like to this good of a person, but history has shown me to be just as apathetic as most people, though I have tried to change that by helping out with little things. As one of the tenets of Shotokan Karate states: "Seek perfection of Character".

I have seen this article all over Facebook and the news. Faith in humanity restored! Stories like this make all of the other ridiculous new stories seem a little less horrible. I am so happy that there ARE good police officers out there doing good things for people in the community, who care about even the least fortunate members of society. And I am glad that this officer has been recognized for his selfless deed.

This is awesome! It is nice for everyone all around. Warms everyone's hart, raises moral in a department, and restores trust and respect with in a community.
