In a nutshell, police are meant to abide by the laws they are supposed to enforce, but many cops do not. "Scandals" in police forces arise and fade so frequently that many people do not think twice. But if one were to look into it, they would see what "scandals in the past can teach us about current issues."

Police corruption is not only happening in America, but in many other countries as well. Places such as Dubai, China, England and a myriad of other countries face this issue as well. When looked at in depth, it is seen that the extent to which this issue goes is various from area to area.

In many drug-related cases, police do not provide a resolution; partially because some cops are included in these issues. Cops may confiscate drugs for their own use.

So many law-breakers are being let loose because of the pure neglect by police of the civil rights of citizens, criminals or not. Police men and women are in trouble for violating policies and the police code of ethics.
Jason Timothy Spears's comment, March 4, 2014 12:20 PM
Police in all areas are at large, beating suspects and neglecting the rights of civilians. In the war against crime, criminals have the right to not be beaten without justification, and some of the perpetrators, regardless of the crime they commit, are set loose due to the misconduct of the apprehending police officers.

Nearly all law enforcement officers do their job the way they are supposed to, but many of them stray away from the guidelines. In too many cases, cops do not abide by the very laws they are meant to enforce. Be it drugs or money, many police officers commit crimes merely because they are police.
Jason Timothy Spears's comment, March 3, 2014 12:46 PM
When it comes to the rights of the very patrons police are supposed to protect, cops do not see the problems they cause. Brute force is a serious issue in today's police forces.
Jason Timothy Spears's comment, March 3, 2014 12:48 PM
Police brutality is bringing rise to many lawsuits and job losses. Some police abuse perpetrators without remorse. Consequences are not enforced for many of these cases, making them severely prevalent.
