Online Poker.netPoker Nordica Goes Out Of BusinessOnline Poker.netSix years after opening for business, Poker Nordica has announced it is soon to shut its doors for good.

Despite the imminent closure of the poker room, a visit to the site will reveal no public notice with the information instead having been communicated by e-mail to its customers. The site first launched back in 2006 during the online poker boom, which also happened to be the year the US passed the UIGEA.

Consequently, many poker rooms were forced to withdraw from the huge market but Poker Nordica continued operating, eventually becoming the second biggest on the Merge Network behind Carbon Poker. However, back in February this year, the usually reliable company stopped replying to customer e-mails before finally breaking the silence on March 30th, when it sent out messages announcing it was shutting shop. An extract from the e-mail is as follows:

“We unfortunately need to close down Poker Nordica from April 1th 2012. If you have any funds in your Poker Nordica account, you can visit the URL on the client login screen. This will take you to a page where you can login to the Poker Nordica cashier and request a withdrawal.Alternatively, if you have another active account within the Merge Network and would like your balance transferred over, please email and give them your alternate account details and they will arrange the transfer. We wish all our players the best in the future”
