Norwegian Norsk Tipping starts online casino to protect consumers, Gaming Intelligence

The Norwegian government has authorised state-owned gaming operator Norsk Tipping to expand its online gaming offering (lottery, betting and keno) to include casino games. Overseas operators currently generate turnover in excess of NOK5.0bn (US$821m) annually from the Norwegian market, despite the monopoly held by Norsk Tipping. The expansion into casino will decrease problem gambling by channelling players to a legitimate offering with strong player protection tools.
