John Connelly, Bally Technologies’ Vice President of Business Development:

"Bally is pleased to offer Ongame’s proven poker platform, which will provide a unique offering through its integration on Bally’s iGaming platform. Bally first in Nevada, Playtech is shut out, Gambling911

Bally first in Nevada, Playtech is shut out, Gambling911 | Poker & eGaming News | Scoop.it

Bally Technologies, which earlier in the year partnered up with France online poker venture Chili Gaming, has been granted recommendation to get the first license to operate a Web poker site by the state of Nevada. Approval will be made June 21. For now the fee is $125,000 but could be reduced at a later date. Bally will not be permitted to accept players from outside the state of Nevada at this time.

William Hill’s affiliation with online poker software giant, Playtech/iPoker has made entry into Nevada impossible despite leaving Australia and acquiring American Wagering, Brandywine Gaming and Cal-Neva sports wagering businesses.

Playtech founder, Teddy Sagi, was once charged with bribery and fraud in 1996. He served nine months in prison.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board is scheduled to review application of IGT on Thursday June 7.

IGT and William Hill recommended for Nevada licences, Gaming Intelligence

UK bookmaker William Hill and US gaming solutions provider International Game Technology (IGT) have become the latest companies to receive recommendations from the Nevada Gaming Control Board to be granted licences.

The unanimous recommendations for William Hill and IGT follow yesterday's decision in favour of Bally Technologies, which will all be reviewed by the Nevada Gaming Commission on June 21st when a final decision will be made.

The regulatory body, nevertheless, decided the British bookmaker is suitable to acquire and consolidate the bookmaking operations under the William Hill name.

William Hill paid $53m to acquire American Wagering, doing business as Leroy’s Sportsbook; Brandywine Bookmaking, doing business as Lucky’s Race & Sports Book; and Sierra Development Co., doing business as Club Cal Neva.

However, the three-member regulatory board expressed concern about William Hill’s business relationship with Playtech and Teddy Sagi, who was convicted of securities fraud and bribery in 1996 in Israel and served 18 months in prison.

US-facing service provider Bally Technologies has applied for a core service associate certificate with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) and has also applied for a licence in Gibraltar.

The applications come three months after the company purchased Chiligaming’s B2B igaming platform. Chili previously held an operating licence in the jurisdiction but cancelled it after merging its non-French B2C operations with Curaçao-licensed Poker770 in March.

Both applications are believed to be geared towards clearing a path for supply deals with UK-facing operators, and a spokesman for Bally said the company intended to "[Set] up our remote gaming server based out of Gibraltar."
