William Hill came a step closer to buying out its online joint venture partner Playtech after formally triggering a valuation process for William Hill Online. The move is part of its right to exercise a call option over Playtech’s 29% stake in the business.

Several African nations, already under pressure from the activities of terrorist and organised crime groups, find themselves combating new arrivals seeking to funnel criminal cash into the region via unregulated casino gaming operations.
The unregulated gaming industry has become a hiding ground for criminals running away from failing economies of Europe and elsewhere and there is an infiltration of tainted money … under the guise of casino investment.
Islamist groups Al Qaeda and Al Shabaab were already wreaking havoc in some central African countries via their activities in counterfeit pharmaceuticals, small arms trafficking and general corruption, and were seeking funds from all sources, often joining forces with new criminal arrivals.
