We provide Professional Hard Drive Recovery Services and repair services for all makes and models of hard disks - Maxtor, Seagate, WD, IBM, Hitachi, Samsung

Tony O Hare's insight:

We all know that hard disk drives may fail for a variety of reasons and may fail if there are bad sectors on them. Sometimes these bad sectors can be found on partitions of the drive that allow the operating system to start up and run. If these bad sectors occur throughout the partition where the operating system is stored then it might well be the case that the operating system cannot cope and therefore freezes.

When this happens it may also result in the loss of data saved or the user being unable to access the data that has been saved to the drive before the crash. With this being something of a common problem we at Plymouth Data Recovery are experts in recovering data from HDDs that have become unstable as the result of continual freezing whilst using your PC.

Recover Data From External Hard Drive

Recover Data From External Hard Drive | plymouth data recovery | Scoop.it
External Hard drives are very complex pieces of hardware, which can cause problems. Recover lost data with our external hard drive recovery service.
Tony O Hare's insight:

We at Plymouth Data Recovery have dedicated our time and expertise to helping recover data when a physical hard drive problem arises. When it comes to physical problems with hard drives there are many reasons but chiefly among them are problems with actuators, heads and platters becoming dislodged or even jumper connections becoming damaged due to access reconnecting and disconnecting. Contact us at Plymouth Data Recovery to find out more about why your drive might physically fail and what we can do to help recover your lost or inaccessible data.

As with the other devices within your computer an external HDD works with the firmware that has been factory loaded. The firmware is a small but important program that instructs the external HDD on how to behave in relation to any device it may be connected.

MAC Hard Drive Recovery

MAC Hard Drive Recovery | plymouth data recovery | Scoop.it
We provide Professional Mac Hard Drive Recovery and repair Services for all types of Mac Products including Macbook, iMac, Mac Air, iphone, ipod
Tony O Hare's insight:

A hard drive within an Apple Mac is similar to that of a desktop PC and as such can suffer the same fate. With this in mind Plymouth Data Recovery can help recover the data from an Apple Mac hard drive in the same way we would from a Windows PC. And just like Windows PCs Apple Mac drives can suffer the same problems – head issues, spindle problems, actuator arm breakages. Contact us at Plymouth Data Recovery if your Apple Mac hard drive is proving troublesome.

An Apple Mac may suddenly lock up or freeze as a result of problems originating on the hard drive. It may be as a result of a software installation that has corrupted boot sector files or because of bad sectors on the disk as a result of simple wear and tear. After a while the integrity of a hard drive is lessened if too many files are installed, deleted and moved around without properly housekeeping. These sudden shutdowns and freezes not only result in the loss of data but can also contribute to the degradation of other components within your computer.

RAID 5 Data Recovery

RAID 5 Data Recovery | plymouth data recovery | Scoop.it
We provide Professional RAID 5 Hard Drive Recovery Services and repair services for all makes and models of Raid 5 servers including Dell, Compaq, IBM, HP etc.
Tony O Hare's insight:

RAID devices are becoming the IT work horse of many a company these days and with that in mind many companies are turning to us here at www.plymouthdatarecovery.co.uk for help when their drives fail or cannot be accessed.  We are experienced with many different makes and configuration of RAID array and also the problems they encounter such as data corruption, damaged controller cards, missing partitions and disk failures after a rebuild

All hard drives including those in RAID 5 setups require firmware to allow them to operate correctly with the motherboards they are connected to. To this end if a firmware program is out of date or corrupt then there is a likelihood that one or more of your RAID drives will not function if this firmware is not correct.  When this happens data can be lost, as it may not be written to the right place if written at all.

We provide Professional Laptop Hard Drive Recovery services for all makes and models of Laptop Hard Drives including Sony,Fujitsu,Mac,Acer,Asus,Toshiba
Tony O Hare's insight:

As we have discussed in other sections of this website, Firmware is the governing program responsible for how a hard drive works in conjunction with the other hardware it is attached to. An example of how firmware works would be your smartphone or wrist-watch.

Firmware governs how these work and in doing enable them to carry out the most basic of tasks like counting minutes and hours. Firmware on a hard drive determines at what speed the drive revolutions (RPM) and how it saves information to the platters that revolve at a certain speed. Without firmware to govern how the drive works it is more often than not the case that the drive will not function and no access to data stored on it will be allowed.
