By using the free Great Lakes Early Detection Network app, a person can take pictures of suspected invasive species -- whether of farm, woods or water -- and upload the pictures and locations for verification.

Boxwood blight has been discovered in the US. Learn how far it has spread and how the horticultural research community is addressing this new plant disease introduction. Boxwood Blight (Cylindrocladium buxicola or C. pseudonaviculatum) is a new plant disease to the United States, having first been confirmed in the October, 2011. The disease can cause significant defoliation and branch dieback to infected plants. Most of what we know about the disease is from research done in Europe where the disease was first discovered in the early 1990s.

In Europe there is not much done in preventing the spread of this new fungus, which is moved by infected plants for planting and it is very difficult to control, once it is established in new area. वनस्पतीमधील नवीन रोगाची ओळख पटली असून त्याची पृष्टी ऑक्टोंबर 2011 मध्ये करण्यात आलेली आहे. या रोगामुळे पानगळ होऊन डायबॅक होतो. या रोगावर युरोपमध्ये संशोधन करण्यात येत असून युरोपमध्ये 1990 मध्ये पहिल्यांदा आढळला होता. Delete the scoop?

Litchfield County Times: Boxwood Blight is the Latest Threat “This whole thing exploded onto the scene in Connecticut in October, so it is very new,” said Dr. Douglas.
A new threat faces landscapers and property owners in Connecticut with the eruption of a newly identified boxwood blight (Cylindrocladium pseudonaviculatum), which threatens to attack and kill thousands of boxwood plants in the region in coming months. The finding of this fungus was also officially recorded by national plant protection services of North Carolina, Connecticut and Virginia. Delete the scoop?
