A huge colony of an elusive and brightly coloured shellfish species is discovered in coastal waters in the west of Scotland.

Mulino delle Tolle

Mulino delle Tolle | Places of Peace | Scoop.it

“A wine without salami will never be a good wine”

This is what – in the last century – Arrigo Bertossi, who accompanied his wines with typical Friulian sausages, said.

The history of the Mulino delle Tolle is a family history. Work and passion that are passed down from generation to generation. In the 90ies, family Bertossi purchased an old building dating back to the 16th century and the knowledge and the founder’s tradition came alive. Since then it became an agritourism activity. Known as the White House, it was witness of historical events since 1600. With a fresh whitewash it was used for years as a hospital while in Habsburg times,- it became the border customs. It burned down during the riots of 1848 and after its rebuilding used to slaughter cattles for the Italian army in World War II. In 1998, it rose from an old ruin, to Mulino delle Tolle.

Being a destination for tourists visiting the ancient heart of Friuli, it is also a strategic meeting point for business lunches.

You can find Mulino delle Tolle: a few kilometers away from the motorway exit Palmanova, a starshaped Napoleonic city, nestled in the green countryside of Aquileia.
