This is the expanded digital magazine format of the newsletter "Places for Struggling Teens" published by Woodbury Reports Inc.  There also is a print edition and a web site edition found at www.strugglingteens.com.  The topic is written by and for the schools, programs, professionals and parents who are part of the network of private parent-choice programs and services that service struggling young people and their families, and inclusion here is no indication of endorsement of any school, program or service.  I am a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) and a Certified Educational Planner (CEP).

Many problems of young people can come from what has been called "Nature Deficit Syndrome".  It is amazing how much healing can happen by just exposing a struggling child to nature through hikes or wilderness adventure, and wilderness therapy is very effective through combining traditional therapy with outdoor activities. -Lon
