In June, Mountain View police posted photos online of thousands of dollars of stolen jewelry. And now, all items have finally been returned to their rightful owners.

Silbermann doesn’t want a team entirely of product zealots. He wants to hire people who are like the users Pinterest is yet to acquire. That way, the people designing the product are more like the audience they want to have, rather than what they currently have.

Pinterest is building the "save button for the Internet."
Kelly Lieberman's insight:

Pinterest wants to be the resource that users rely on when they've gotten the faintest glimmer of an idea. By pulling them into its ecosystem, it then wants to hook them until they're ready to make to their final purchasing decisions, too. 


Lopp says that the past few years have been about building and improving core products, but that next year it plans to build on this infrastructure to create new ways to search and discover. Pinterest thinks of itself as building a "save button for the internet."
