PICTOSON
www.pictoson.com By chance we found out how amazingly usefull ACC can be for learning languages, basic vocabulary and comunicating with people we do not understand. We did realize that with this App not only basic communication can be established but Pictoson App can be used to learn kids own language improving writing listening and phonology an be used as a new language vocabulary adquisition. And worderfully those utilities can be used in 22 languages. A kid in Spain can take advantage of this in a school, but in Poland, Russia, Haiti too. With different languages we can work with pictoson: phonetics, phonology and work listening and writting, guessing spellings, guessing what is what you see, read and listen. Guess what animal makes the noice and how this noice is called in every language. Pictoson is a simple App with loads of utilities that we could explore. Curiosity waking up Fearless language approach and communication enhancing app. AAC App AUDIOS / VOICE / SPEECH app

What if We are able to image translate words in every language?

An image = N words= N Audios

Why not automatizing images obtaining from them words and audios in every language?

A Visual dictionary not only means a dictionary...It is a learning tool...a discovery...You learn to see how things are, how are they written and how they sound, if they have audios...and therefore things exist

PictoSon APP's insight:

We are Long Long Yu and Eva Elorrieta

We have Created Pictoson

Pictoson video

Pictoson tool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9zoBZb93o0

We believe that Pictoson is  a great basic offline communication tool for Everyone ..Everywhere We got good feedback from teachers, technology learning coachs, learning platforms, special need educational associations (autism, Asperger, TDAH, alzheimer..), speech  - language therapy professionals, language learning platforms, people who travel in multilingüal atmospheres like "el camino de santiago-Saint james Pilgrims walking routes ", from travelling guides  http://lector.kioskoymas.com/epaper/viewer.aspx

We are looking for language colaborators to add up to our linguistic team and a platform or economical means to build this platform to get contents in a faster way and release offline full Pictoson APP.

Within a single smartphone or a tablet a non alphabetized or poorly alphabetized kid in El Begga or Merzouga or anywhere could have an offline learning treasure in his/ her hand..they actually learn amazingly fast with no means ..imagine if they have access to some information. How to get into university if you can´t alphabetize, how can you have access to a better education if you can´t read or write? How easy can this gap could be wiped away with technology and curiosity? We believe that learning has a lot to do with sharing and communicating. Once you feel this curiosity for others, you get close, try to communicate and share. Learning has a lot to do with emotions....and communication is the bridge to get in contact with emotions. Once you get there, you want to talk about problem resolutions, helping, creating, building..

What is pictoson?

One embryonary App that links pictograms with audios. Pictograms provided by www.arasaac.org (spanish Aragon government public pictograms), automatized audios and corrections made by colaborators.1 pictogram-image  = 1 word = 1 audio

Why do we build this?

We want to solve those problems: 1. Basic communication for speakers and special needs population

For Speakers
How to communicate in a country where there is no images and you don´t speak the same language? see please example 1 , 2, and this link for understandig what do we mean by basic communication
http://www.scoop.it/t/augmentative-and-alternative-communication-by-eva-elorrieta

Special needs when communicating
How to communicate if you have just images in your mind or if you have trouble to speak?

People with speech pathologies can work with pictograms to communicate. They use portable communicatorsor other AACS. Population with Cerebral palsy (CP), intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), neurological diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson's, muscular dystrophy, trauma cranio-encephalic, aphasia or inabilities of various types, among many others, use this kind of communication..while they work on speech recovery if possible.

We found by chance Alternative and Aumentative Communication focus along the way, because when you need to communicate in a foreing country you tend to use this AAC without knowing what this is.

What AAC is ?
http://www.asha.org/public/speech/disorders/AAC/

Happily We had a permission from Aragon -spanish Government to use www.arasaac.org (Asha´s spanish homonime organization) pictograms in our app. As soon as We announce them our will to add audios to those pictograms, they had a great feedback and thought that Pictoson is a great Idea. http://informaticaparaeducacionespecial.blogspot.com.es/2013/04/pictoson-herramienta-de-comunicacion.html  2. Learning communicational tool:

Our goal is communication (not learning perfectly a language), enhacing fearless approach to communication, discovery and sharing among different cultures. Depending on your age and ability or needs Pictoson can bea. alphabet learning tool - If I have curiosity I can have access to world wide alphabets, b. learn how to write, read and pronounce toolc. audio picto dictionaryd. learn how to pronounce toole. learn how to write toolf. Category meanings learning, meanings acquisition (you learn images, audios and words)g. language laboratory with speech to text, text to speech options in order to pronounce better, write and read. Missconceptions corrections about reading, writting and speaking.

For those travelling around the world this app could represent a learning tool if they have the courage to try and say what they want to say or use this with a "poker" = the image. Fearless communicational approach, avoiding feeling ashamed while communicating.

3. Enrichment and enpowerment tool

1 image= 1 word = 1 audio
- All languages could be found in this tool. - We will also open image enrichment. - You can learn about things that are not at your sight, developping curiosity, learning, dreaming, knowledge (how do you eat a goose barnacle?, is it edible?,  how do you cook it? ) please check example 3 -sharing and communicating among cultures = people empowerment

-special needs communicator everywhere for everyone= people empowerment and human rights helping tool (imagine a person who can´t communicate their basic needs nowadays, how many people are in this situation nowadays?) example 1
Even if you speak french, spanish, english galician and portuguese and a bit german and you have gallbladder pain in Prague, how can you explain that you ate a duck and that you have a pain there if staff in this hospital only speak Czech or Russian. This is a real story. We ended saying Cuak cuak moving arms up and down and pointing at the place of our body where we thought gallbladder may be located. example 2How can you communicate in a place where they speak taschelhit a bereber language and you have no images around because it is a desert. If you know how to draw great but if you don´t, you will expend one month talking about the sun, stars, frogs, stones and moon because those are the only things you can see, point, ask for the sound and learn this sound by heart.

example 3

how many times have you been to Maroco?

Have you seen any OKRA around?

After spending some months in Maroco. have never realize such a thing existed.. saw many different peppers around markets..but ??? (don´t know what that is, is it edible, how can be cooked, or shall it be cooked? spicy...sweet..maybe it is just a pepper never mind)

PictoSon APP's insight:

learning language...the Evolution

20 years ago, If you tried to learn a language but you did not have the means to improve..what did you do?

Singing without lyrics. I remember in Spain discos...everyone singing Gloria Gaynor and Pet shop boys and many others...but how...

What we did...was to open our mouth..and try to say what we thought they were saying..obviously we had our own language..but we were great..singing outloud...sometimes..the clever one..use to make some accurate corrections...and we felt..so ashame of our ignorance..but...that did not stop us from singing...

Michael Jackson and

Nikka Costa..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOOQT4FgjIk

How can you recognize this Where do I fit in...and this hard alone...

for me I was always HARDAUN...

Then you realize..(as soon as you learn words) ..that your were talking words ...and that your were saying things...awesome ¡¡¡

Then lyrics...came along with records...that was..a big...huge next step...u had to feet *..this word in what they were singing...huge job...(* feet instead of fit  in...mistake..yes but that is what I would call a treasure mistake)

but the top...was..with internet...

after spending years..of watching Cat on a hoot tin roof...100 times..without understanding...what pregnancy..was...

then...we got the links...and scripts --Heaven for shadowing

PictoSon APP's insight:
