A cursory review of my very modestly sized Twitter feed will tell you that there appears to be a growing divide between those that define themselves as S&C coaches and those that engage in the study of Sport Science at an academic level.
Is this divide real or just a product of a small sample size (sounds kind of Sports Science doesn’t it!)

If you are an athelete you may want to train with a sports and athletic trainer to help you get an advantage on your competition. If you are a body builder you would train with a body building trainer who specializes in building muscle bulk and definition. If you are trying to cut your weight down then you would hire a weight maintenance who focus on techniques to burn calories and fat, increase muscle definition and improve cardiovascular endurance. If your trying to recover from an injury then you may want to hire a rehabilitation trainer this type of trainer focuses on improving conditioning for a specific area rather than the whole body and their goal is typically to help the patient regain normal functions.
