Why we run ... and why I stopped - by Andy Kenworthy

Why we run ... and why I stopped - by Andy Kenworthy | Physical and Mental Health - Exercise, Fitness and Activity | Scoop.it
Running is perhaps the oldest sport, with competitors of every species across the globe battling it out for who gets to eat whom.
Peter Mellow's insight:

Great article Andy, however I don't see running as "running away" from my kids. I see it as quality 'me' time that allows me to be a better father by giving me time to think and reflect on life. It's just about keeping some balance in our world I suppose. :-)

5 best running glasses

5 best running glasses | Physical and Mental Health - Exercise, Fitness and Activity | Scoop.it
We all know that running is good for your body (save maybe your knees), but sometimes we need a little extra protection against the many and varied elements. Whether it's rain, sun, wind or dust – or a truly British combination of the above – a good pair of glasses is a must for frequent runners.
Peter Mellow's insight:

Well I don't know about the 'best' but these are obviously five pairs of glasses that the writer was supplied with or tested. There are lots of great glasses for running out there. I have a pair that look good, are light and comfortable that I picked up for $20 from a service station. Yes Oakley's are nice, but a quarter of a thousand dollars? Worth it?
