Artist Alison Moritsugu captures the essence of Mother Nature in her log paintings. These environmental pieces utilize trees as both the subject and the canvas. The fragmented nature of the trees allow the designer to paint directly onto the rustic wood. Once her realistic work is complete, what results is a painting that explores the history of American landscapes. Moritsugu allows viewers to see what America was like when settlers first arrived and additionally depicts the destructive effects

The Gertrude Street Projection Festival is now accepting applications for our 2015 Festival.
A project of The Gertrude Projection Association, The Gertrude Street Projection Festival aims to exhibit and encourage artists, whilst supporting culture and community services in the local area and providing a free outdoor gallery for all to enjoy.
Each year, over thirty sites along Gertrude Street are illuminated by the visions of talented projection artists. Windows, laneways, walls, footpaths, shop interiors, tree-trunks, and whole buildings are lit up with art inventions, created by award winning projection artists, community groups and individuals. Artists have an amazing opportunity to have their work seen by up to 30 000 people over a ten day period and the Festival receives significant national, state and local publicity.
