For the Educators and Learners who believe in the importance of communication:

Infographics are one of viral contemporary modes of communication on the web. Infographics harken back to Poster Sessions at professional conferences, but have a wider spread popularity among the exploding population of people publishing their thoughts to the web. Infographics are also becoming popular for classroom activities – especially STEAM activities: Building Infographics to report out on a topic/issue/condition. Think of them as another way for students to vet information, organize that information, and communicate in a digital design format. One aspect of Infographics (and one that is lacking on most of the Philosophical Chairs activities observed from a science teacher's perspective) is research, data, and citing sources.

Always inspirational to see image collections.

Hannah's curator insight, March 26, 2013 2:33 AM

My thoughts:

A picture really is worth a thousand words. That is one of the sole reasons why photography will always be a hobby and interest of mine. Pictures preserve memories and they depict feelings. There are stories behind each and every picture. While browsing through these pictures, I really felt the emotion behind them. I was glad that they were available for me to see. In the future, I want to be a ble to share my own photography; to be able to capture my feelings and emotions in one shot. I realize that even though photography could not be my main major, I definitely want to minor in it and remember life through pictures, because even though memories fade, pictures remain forever.
