http://www.tomguilmette.com I bought the Canon MP-E 65mm f2.8 manual 1-5x macro lens a month ago and today was the first time I had a chance to try it out. The lens is $1000.00 and it is a specialty lens.
I used a Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm F2.4 which is a standard lens but has a good close minimum focus distance of 0.2 metres which is almost 1:2 macro. Of course, you can get closer with dedicated macro lenses.
When spring had arrived in Vienna, I thought about showing the beauty of nature, landscapes, ... But then I realized that on a macro scale, it's incredible what is going on which you normally never realize!
I recently bought me the MP-E 65mm and played with it a little bit. It's a very special lens and you need a little bit of patience, but the results are breathtaking. I'm looking forward to new adventures in the macro universe..
