Corporate venture funds are playing an increasingly important role in supporting life science commercialization. 

Corporate venturing—the practice of establishing a unit of a corporation with the mandate to make strategic investments in entrepreneurial ventures—has emerged as one of the most prominent strategies for opening up innovation to external ideas and knowledge in the life sciences.
