CA doesn't know when to stop taxing and spending, just like the federal government...soon they will go the way of Detroit and eventually Greece and this is the direction the entire country is heading if they don't stop spending, taxing and causing the price of energy and other resources rise.

The flourishing energy sector along with across-the-board private sector hiring will keep Texas' economic growth moving faster than the nation's, an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas predicted Wednesday.

Texas has been one of the largest economic growers since 2009.  This is due to its rich oil fields along with new technology and methods in the petroleum field.  Now that they are able to drill deeper and more efficient Texas is a huge money field for this industry.  Now people are flocking there to both rural and urban areas of Texas to work in this industry.  This helps the whole Texan economy to grow very quickly.
