Krissy Machamer's insight:

A quality resource for educational leaders- to review and assess their monetary commitment to technology and how the resources are being applied. Sometimes it it's not about how many computers we have, its more about how they are enhancing instruction and student achievement and growth.

in 2013, we can’t be wasting time with tasks that can be automated, data that can be collected electronically and processes that can be performed digitally that can save hours of manual work. Work smarter by utilizing high quality digital resources, not harder.

9 step reminders that should be posterized.... Love it!  I am a teacher who loves learning and playing with new technology.  I am challenged when administration is not considerate to teachers work flow.  Work smarter, not harder.

Good, but for teachers in New Zealand the curriculum and professional development still needs to be connecged to these resources. Teachers can do this, of course, but wouldn't it be nice if there were some resources available which make those connections?

Personalized Learning For K12 Students

Personalized Learning For K12 Students | Personalized Learning Network | Scoop.it

Welcome to Personalized Learning in Action!

My goal is to curate content that shows how students can personalize their learning to build paths to excellence; and how teachers can implement sustainable models in the classroom.

Personalized learning is the education buzzword for 2012.  Most teachers agree with the concept philosophically but  are unsure how to make it workable in the classroom given all the demands on their time.

In its simplest form personalized learning is when students take charge of the content and outcomes of their learning.   Teachers and parents can be actively involved in helping students assess their needs, interests and talents and creating Growth Plans..

The research shows that when students are emotionally engaged to what they are learning they are more likely to persist in the face of setbacks.
