"Make sure you follow your organization’s policy on social media use, and share it with coworkers whose behavior may pose a threat to your company’s network. A seemingly innocent mistake can not only compromise your own PC or mobile device, but it also can expose your organization to malware that results in the loss of sensitive data. You can also lose your own social identity when the virus writer resets your password and takes over your account".

By Tara Miller Some educators have expressed an appreciation for the irony of experienced instructors who have had to learn about social media later in their careers teaching it to younger students who have grown up in an Internet environment. Despite what may seem to be somewhat of a disadvantage, the experienced teacher brings life lessons and the ability to guide students in a positive direction no matter the topic being taught. The following tips, tools, and resources can assist any teacher with the basics about social media and ways to share that information with students.

A nice, simple overview of what a PLN is, and how to go about it.
You might want to take the test to evaluate your digital skill set. You can also look at the survey results. While many of the skills have achieved a positive "Yes, I can!" response from the 27 000-odd participants, we need to put that in the context of the likely skill set of folk who manage to find the test, and do it. This probably skews the results enormously, and makes the problem even bigger...
