5 Critical Mistakes Schools Make With iPads (And How To Correct Them) - Edudemic | Personal Learning Devices in School | Scoop.it
While we’ve witnessed many effective approaches to incorporating iPads successfully in the classroom, we’re struck by the common mistakes many schools are making with iPads, mistakes that are in some cases crippling the success of these initiatives.
Ruth Garner's insight:
'Increasingly a 21st century education is less about place and more about space. And the iPad has become the leading device in which students can navigate and create exciting new worlds'

Hundreds more primary schools in England could be labelled as underperforming and could be turned into academies, as the government raises its targets for test results.
Ruth Garner's insight:

iPad schemes have been seen to raise APS in primary schools - maybe more schools should contact www.belf.org.uk to see how an iPad scheme could help.

The Only App I Couldn't Live Without: LastPass Password Manager (Make sure to upgrade to premium)

The Only App I Couldn't Live Without: LastPass Password Manager (Make sure to upgrade to premium) | Personal Learning Devices in School | Scoop.it

Passwords have gotten so complicated that even people with ferociously sharp memories can struggle to recall the eccentric combinations of letters, numbers, and symbols. There are passwords for personal e-mail, work e-mail, bank accounts, Twitter, and Facebook, and woe to anybody who uses the same one for those two malware magnets. On top of that, it's recommended that you regularly change your passwords so they don't get compromised. Passwords are a pain, but LastPass slices through the Gordian knot of password management with a deft and effective cross-platform browser add-on/app/online password manager and form filler that makes web browsing easier and more secure. Although I prefer it on Chrome and iOS, LastPass is also available for Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari, your descktop, and on Android.

The bottom line: Effective, secure, and easy to use, LastPass offers a broad base of password-management features for free that can be expanded when upgrading to the premium version. It's an essential add-on for modern Web browsing.
