The Future of Work: Research Report

The Future of Work: Research Report | Personal Development | Scoop.it

Today’s business leaders face the challenge of creating the future workplace. Because of the advent of new technologies as well as the emergence of Millennials as a major percentage of the workforce, the future workplace will look vastly different than the one we are used to. At the same time, a culture of sharing, transparency, and mobility is entering the business world, as technology barriers lower. This change is being driven by the consumerization of IT, which can be described as the introduction of the popular consumer-grade technologies and devices that are spreading into the workplace for business use.

To better understand the scope and nature of this changes, Chess Media Group conducted a global research study in May 2013, surveying 605 employees who currently use social and collaboration technology tools, and how these tools affect their ability to work efficiently and flexibly.

The 75-Year Study that Found the Secrets to a Fulfilling Life

The 75-Year Study that Found the Secrets to a Fulfilling Life | Personal Development | Scoop.it

What if there was a study dedicated to unearthing the secrets to a happy and purposeful life? It would have to be conducted over the course of many decades, following the lives of real people from childhood until old age, in order to see how they changed and what they learned. And it would probably be too ambitious for anyone to actually undertake.

Only, a group of Harvard researchers did undertake it, producing a comprehensive, flesh-and-blood picture of some of life’s fundamental questions: how we grow and change, what we value as time goes on, and what is likely to make us happy and fulfilled.

For most people, creating goals is easy! The execution and application is the struggle. As Diana Scharf Hunt says, “Goals are just dreams with a deadline!” Everyone has dreams, but successful people turn them into goals that they accomplish. In order to ensure you reach the finish line with your goals achieved, here are 10 steps to help you move from dreamer to doer.

So what are you aiming for? If your answer is nothing, then you probably won’t like what you get out of this life. Instead of simply drifting along reacting to what life brings you, take proactive steps to go out and create the future you want. While we can’t control everything that happens to us, we can control ourselves by following goals that bring out our passion for life.
