I learned a few key things from this article. Your personal branding is your modern resume. This is your reputation and what people will see of you. 

It is important to BE YOURSELF. Express your passion, beliefs, opinions, and ways of thinking, because this is what makes good personal branding. 

Become a better writer. You want to pubilsh good and valuable content. It is important to try to improve your writing to attract and keep the attention of readers.

- The "News Junkie" - posting and sharing about current events and the latest trends. You are viewed as a credible influencer

- The Opinionated Connoisseur - posting and sharing your opinions on the latest Oscar winner, the newest trends, or the newest products. People respect your opinions.

- Self-promoter - You generate a lot of content and promote it throughout your networks

- The Helping Hand - You are the first to offer advice. People depend on you as a reliable source of support

- The Super Networker - You build your own network and help other make new connections

Good Point! This article has really made me think about what my online reputation is and looks like. Here is a summary of the 5 easy steps to getting known on the internet and keeping a good reputation while doing so:

1. Asses your current reputation - search for yourself online

2. Identify the changes needed - anything negative needs to be deleted or pushed down in the search results

3. Determine your best areans - publish more content on the places you are most popular,  you will hsve the most influence there.

4. Decide what type of content and topics you will publish about to promote the reputation you want to builld.

5. Start building - Publish and promote valuable content. Track your reputation by measuring and mointoring the success of your publishing and modify and make changes as necessary

1. Determine your goals - this should lead to you in the career path you want to go down. Figure out what you want to study, what you are passionate about, and what your interests are. 

2. Compile your history - add your best accomplishments and experience to your profile

3. Create a consistent web presence - create and post content on several different networks. Use the same user name and profile so people recognize you

4. Learn how to stand out - share valuable and relevant information

5. Expand your network - work on connecting to as many people as possibe, especially important and relevant people to your goals

 

Number one is more important than people think. If you do not have a clear goal to strive for it can make decisions and presses along the way ore difficult. It is important to know exactly what you want to get out of it and who your target exactly is. In order to learn how to sand out you need to know exactly what your trying to accomplish and what that industry is currently missing that you can bring to the table
