I find it interesting to note parallels and contrasts between use of social networks in f2f environments and online environments.  In some instances the online version works better for those who flounder in person. In some cases people who love the real world interactions disparage the online ones. But for most of us, there seems to be a parallel in our patterns and style it would seem. Where should children "learn" how to do this, or is that lesson beside the point at this time?

HOW SCOOP IT CHANGED MY SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING STRATEGY BY ACCIDENT

 

As I began this process of building my "brand" .. creating my online image and my professional presentation, I had a lot to figure out.  I created my first website, facebook and Linked In account.  I made the decision to "market" myself a Lite Feet dancer, if you read my bio it is one of the accomplishments in my life for which I am very proud.  The problem there was no single source of information of LITE FEET DANCE.   My introduction to Scoop It was perfect timing, it gave me an opportunity to create a LITE FEET SCOOP -- I had been dancing since I was 14 and I had come to know all the founders and the main Lite Feet websites, the history of Lite Feet dance,  the multitude of YouTube Channels, websites, facebook pages and Lite Feet Sound Cloud accounts, and I felt a great responsibility to curate and create the first and only LITE FEET SCOOP.  Creating this scoop gave me a link to provide as a reference to my own "LIte Feet Dancer" identity but also was a unique opportunity to curate, what I believe to be, an important, relevent and for the most part unnoticed dance phenom and YouTube Sensation that is  Lite Feet Dance.  My efforts to high lite the incredible talent of these young dancers has been an honor and I will continue to add to scoop as new content becomes available.

I believe this will be incredibly useful for you as you develop your chapter summary for chapter four of The Outsiders which is due at the end of this week. Remember - you can present your chapter summary in any way you wish - a story board, a mind map, a Prezi, a short multimedia presentation, whatever takes your fancy. 

As a critical thinker, you will need to develop the skills to read between the lines of what the author (in this case, S. E. Hinton) is describing through the text. Some of these tips are excellent, some stink. Be Controversial is a good example of a stinker. If you are Morton Downey then yes be controversial, but if you are NOT naturally controversial putting that air on to game the system is stupid.

There are no secrets anymore and you won't be able to maintain a mask long enough to establish a brand so why do it? Best idea is to do what comes naturally to you, tell the stories you know and keep your eyes and ears peeled.

Next best thing to do is hand the keys over and let others write, curate and contribute. When people consistently help out GIVE THEM A JOB. Ask them to monitor a section of your blog or website, ask them to tweet or provide guest blog posts.

Asking for something may be the ultimate confirming signal. The web is a huge lie detecting amplifier. Never become something you aren't to get links, social shares or traffic. You won't be able to maintain the masquerade and life is too short anyway.

There are some good tips mixed in such as ask questions and communicate the value and who the post is for. More good tips than bad here :). M

HOW SCOOP IT CHANGED MY SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING STRATEGY BY ACCIDENT

 

As I began this process of building my "brand" .. creating my online image and my professional presentation, I had a lot to figure out.  I created my first website, facebook and Linked In account.  I made the decision to "market" myself a Lite Feet dancer, if you read my bio it is one of the accomplishments in my life for which I am very proud.  The problem there was no single source of information of LITE FEET DANCE.   My introduction to Scoop It was perfect timing, it gave me an opportunity to create a LITE FEET SCOOP -- I had been dancing since I was 14 and I had come to know all the founders and the main Lite Feet websites, the history of Lite Feet dance,  the multitude of YouTube Channels, websites, facebook pages and Lite Feet Sound Cloud accounts, and I felt a great responsibility to curate and create the first and only LITE FEET SCOOP.  Creating this scoop gave me a link to provide as a reference to my own "LIte Feet Dancer" identity but also was a unique opportunity to curate, what I believe to be, an important, relevent and for the most part unnoticed dance phenom and YouTube Sensation that is  Lite Feet Dance.  My efforts to high lite the incredible talent of these young dancers has been an honor and I will continue to add to scoop as new content becomes available.

SCOOPS --  I began using Scoop when I was defining myself a LITE FEET DANCER.  There was no single source of info about Lite Feet dance, a NYC Born Battle dance phenom and YouTube Sensation.  I created LITE FEET SCOOP TO reference for my own resume but also to provide anyone interested a link to the multitude of YOUTUBE Channels, Sound Cloud and personal sites dedicated to this unique art form and the talented dancers who participate.
