Is Silicon Valley Secretly Working On Breaking The Hypothesis Of Humanity Living In A Simulation?

Is Silicon Valley Secretly Working On Breaking The Hypothesis Of Humanity Living In A Simulation? | People Strategies and Tech | Scoop.it
Do we live in a simulated, maybe even holographic universe? It’s a hypothesis that’s been around for quite some time now and depending on what explanation or illustration you’re about to believe, there seems to be a whole lot that fits the concept, but doesn’t prove it beyond a doubt.
Of course, it’s an eerie and somewhat calming belief – all at the same time and it has gotten really popular among Silicon Valley’s tech elites.
$$!ad_code_content_spilt_video_ad!$$
But what to do with this kind of knowledge, that’s still nothing more but nescience? We can and we should get out of this state of bewilderment and disorientation that comes with this territory. However, we should do more instead of trying to take different colored pills.
Apparently, that’s what Silicon Valley is up to – breaking us out of the simulation and two billionaires in particular share the intention to do so by (secretly) pouring millions into it.
I don’t know if you’ve heard the name Sam Altman already? He’s at the helm of Y Combinator, widely accepted as one of the very best boot-camps and investment funds for any upcoming tech startups.
Altman can be characterized by the word quirky or relentless, but in a good way. He always seems to push forward as a new story tries to ‘carve out’.
In the piece, Altman discusses his theories about being controlled by technology and delves into the simulation hypothesis. He thinks that all human beings might just be unwittingly part of a computer simulation someone else has created.
Being unaware of the sheer concept definitely isn’t true anymore, as the idea is so popular now, that some of the tech industry’s billionaires (including the ever so eloquent Elon Musk) are just weary of talking about it. Instead, they are up to a new approach – actually doing something about it.
According to the New Yorker there are many people in Silicon Valley obsessed by the argument of a fabricated reality, that two tech billionaires have gone so far as to “secretly engage scientists to work on breaking us out of the simulation.”
We don’t know yet, who those two billionaires are, but considering the background, ambition and complexity of the task at hand, it’s a safe bet that Elon Musk, Altman and investor Peter Thiel are among the driving forces.

All you need for clarification are the conferences those guys attended, dating back a couple of months. Elon Musk was on stage at the Vox Media’s Code Conference in June and shed some limelight on this super popular topic himself, saying:
“It got to the point where basically every conversation was the AI slash simulation conversation and my brother and I finally agreed that we’d ban any such conversations if we’re ever in a hot tub. Because that really kills the magic..."
Enough said? Time to tweak the code of the simulation to break free! You don't think so? Let m
