• Social epidemics: a meme is an infectious idea that spreads through a population like a virus or a disease. 
• The Broken Windows Theory: small positive changes in the urban environment can have a large effect on social behavior.
• The Rule of 150: social channel capacity is the natural limit of close relationships among humans, which appears to be approximately 150 people. Above this number, it becomes difficult to keep track of all the relationships.
• Maven traps: these are methods of identifying and communicating with people who (perhaps obsessively) accumulate knowledge about very specific things. 
• Law of Plentitude: the value of an individual node in a network starts at zero when there is only one node and increases exponentially with the addition of each node.
• Network nuisance costs: as the number of messages increase, people become more selective (through the use of filters) so they don’t become overwhelmed. This increased selectivity involves a greater dependence on personal connections and trusted advisers.
