Anna Sasaki's curator insight, March 24, 2015 8:31 AM

I mainly read the topic over detrimental nationalism, and they had a few points against it. Segregation is starting to occur over nationalism, as people feel closer ties towards others of the same nationality. You can see this prominent in UK where the British are seen as superior, and they have some mindset in which they assume that they are better than the Scottish or Irish as they are pure British. They clarified that this nationalism could be a dividing factor among bringing the world together, and may even be a conductive force of racism and is detrimental to the world.

This ties into ethnicity and nationalism as it talks about the repercussions of both. I personally think that there is a fine line between having a strong nationality and accepting who you are, and having a sense of dominance over other nationalities and ethnicities.
