End of Capitalism and the Return of Koinonía - P2P Foundation

End of Capitalism and the Return of Koinonía - P2P Foundation | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

"After a short analysis of the meaning of the word koinonía, I would like to show that some important modern alternatives to liberal capitalism such as the P2P movement, the convivialist movement and the Common Good movement, show interesting similarities with the platonic and Hegelian traditions from which they could benefit when it comes to elaborating a philosophical justification of their positions. I will not engage in a full account of these alternative movements, since I only want to show some general similarities, but I think that a systematic recycling of the intuitions of Plato and Hegel could help explore new models of economics and politics."

The UK could be the world capital of the sharing economy if we take these steps - CITY A.M. | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

EVERYONE seems to be talking about the “sharing economy”, and while this may not be a model that will work for every industry, it is a trend that requires attention. So much so that, in September 2014, the UK government raised the need for an independent report to examine the social and economic potential of the sharing economy, and I was asked to head it up. Over 1,000 people responded to the call for evidence and, ultimately, the subsequent findings represent the beginning of what I believe will make the UK the sharing economy capital of the world.

Sign me up to Russell Brand's sharing revolution

Sign me up to Russell Brand's sharing revolution | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it
The political conversation on sharing is growing by the day, sometimes from the unlikeliest of quarters. Take Russell Brand, for example, the comedian-cum-activist and revolutionary. It’s easy to dismiss Brand’s polysyllabic and self-referential meanderings, as do most of the establishment media in the USA and Britain, but this only serves to disregard his flashes of wisdom and the reasons for his popularity.

Category:P2P Solidarity - P2P Foundation | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it
One of the most common worries about P2P is that it will erode social rights. The key to understanding P2P solidarity is that P2P is not just a policy offering new solutions for existing problems, but a new system that changes the problems altogether.
