3 Very Good Tools to Annotate Web Content ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Pedagogy and technology of online learning | Scoop.it
Here are some good Chrome extensions to use on your Chromebook to annotate webpages. You can use them to highlight portion of a web text, add your comments and tags, share annotated pages with others via social media websites or through generated links, organize your notes by tags and many more. And for those of you using Evernote, we have added Evernote Web Clipper which is a Chrome add-on to help you save things you come across online right to your Evernote account. Enjoy

A Quick Guide to Using Diigo with Your Students ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

A Quick Guide to Using Diigo with Your Students ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Pedagogy and technology of online learning | Scoop.it

Social bookmarking is an online phenomenon that has seen the light in the last few years particularly with the outburst of web 2.0 technologies or what author Will Richardson calls the read/write web. To put it simply, a social bookmarking service is a web tool that allows you to not only bookmark web documents (as traditional bookmarking did) but also to annotate, edit, tag and share them with others. Social bookmarking can also be a collaborative endeavour in which a group of users share links with the same tags.

Tools like Delicious or Google Bookmarks let you collect bookmarks online. I've looked at both of these and they’re good. But nothing compares to Diigo.

More and more sites provide access to e-curriculum. Here is a list from Michael Gorman that explores the following sites:
* Symbaloo, a site that allows you to create web mixes. Please note that Symbaloo has a educational version and a non-educational version. It is worth checking out both versions.

* Diigo, a site that allows you to store bookmarks, tag them and more.

* Livebinders - think of a 3-ring binder but online and you get the idea.

* My Big Campus - a safe social learning platform for students. There is a paid version and a freemium version.

* Scoop.it - a great tool for curation.

* Pinterest - many great educational resources can be found.

* Educlipper - this tool is similar to Pinterest but designed for educators.

There is much more information on each of these tools in this post and well worth the read. Have fun exploring!
