3 Tools for Finding Influencers on Social Platforms | TopRank

3 Tools for Finding Influencers on Social Platforms | TopRank | #Médias numériques, #Knowledge Management, #Veille, #Pédagogie, #Informal learning, #Design informationnel,# Prospective métiers | Scoop.it

Influencers are influential. They have a significant following on their social channels and are so knowledgeable about a topic that people not only like to consume their content, but share it. Engaging an influencer and being promoted by them is a great way for your brand to increase visibility, grow a following, and rank in search. Sounds simple right? It’s actually something many brands struggle with.

There are over 500 million registered Twitter accounts, 300 million active monthly Google+ users, and 1.26 billion Facebook users. Add to that the 150 million people that are active on Instagram in any given month, the 70 million on Pinterest, and the 238 million members on LinkedIn and it’s no wonder finding influencers is a bit like playing “Where’s Waldo?”

But it doesn’t have to be. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of tools out there that can help find influential people in your industry in an easy, cost-effective manner. The problem becomes how to choose from all of those tools. Don’t worry; we’ve made that easier too. Here are three tools we love for finding influencers on Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn...

Digital Reading Skills | Delta Publishing - English Language Teaching | #Médias numériques, #Knowledge Management, #Veille, #Pédagogie, #Informal learning, #Design informationnel,# Prospective métiers | Scoop.it

We take it for granted as English language teachers that we need to develop our students’ reading skills, but in most cases the nearest our students get to reading online is a printed version of a web page pre selected by their teacher. At best they may actually get to see a pre selected page on the screen of a computer, but is this enough to really develop their digital literacies?

Beth Dichter's curator insight, November 23, 2013 9:45 PM

But times have changed. Many resources that were blocked in the past are not being used by teachers on a daily basis. This post explores if the same should be true for student work. Is it time to allow student work to be public on the web?

Does an authentic audience improve student writing? Will students try harder if they share their work? These are two of the questions explored in this post. Along with the Pros of Posting Online this post includes the following areas:

* Tips for Allowing Public Posting

* Let Students Know

* Have and Review Guidelines and Rules (including sample guidelines)

* Get Parent Permission (including 18 examples)

* Encourage Sharing and Commenting

* Give Students Freedom

* Be Public Without Fear of the Public

* Don't Stress Over Moderating Everything

What are your thoughts? Do you think that your students would be more engaged if they were allowed to write to a larger audience of their peers and receive feedback from them? There are a number of comments on the original post and you may also learn from these responses.

Using Bloom's Taxonomy In The 21st Century: 4 Strategies For Teaching

Using Bloom's Taxonomy In The 21st Century: 4 Strategies For Teaching | #Médias numériques, #Knowledge Management, #Veille, #Pédagogie, #Informal learning, #Design informationnel,# Prospective métiers | Scoop.it

For decades, education reform has been focused on curriculum, assessment, instruction, and more recently standards, and data, with these efforts only bleeding over into how students think briefly, and by chance. This means that the focus of finite teacher and school resources are not on promoting thinking and understanding, but rather what kinds of things students are going to be thinking about and how they’ll prove they understand them.
