Cómo planificar actividades TIC de manera eficiente

Cómo planificar actividades TIC de manera eficiente | Pedagogia Infomacional | Scoop.it

Learning In The Age Of Digital Distraction

Learning In The Age Of Digital Distraction | Pedagogia Infomacional | Scoop.it
There needs to be some positive acceptance that young people are going to use this technology. I don't think that just denying it is reasonable. I also don't think an extended period of removing technology is likely to be helpful. I think that it is reasonable to take technology "time outs," to have environments and maybe even times where the family interacts with each other and not the outside world through texts. It's sort of a return to the dinner table as a place where you learn how to engage in face-to-face, meaningful contact. Put your tech aside. You can return to it afterwards.

And I think to lead by example is critical because we now know that parents are as guilty as their kids in pulling out a phone during a dinner conversation and texting. I think that that is really critical just to say it has to be balanced and we're going to practice how to balance it as a family.

Remember when you were in school and you had to cram hundreds of pages of textbook material into your head before every big test? If you were like most students, you and your friends probably developed all kinds of tactics to make the grade. Maybe you made flashcards, or reviewed recordings of your professors’ lectures, or came up with intricate mnemonic devices to memorize the material at hand. You may have argued with your classmates about which method was best—but the truth is that, when it comes to learning, one size does not fit all. Scientists and psychologists have developed a number of different models to understand the different ways that people learn best. One popular theory, the VARK model, identifies four primary types of learners: visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic. Each learning type responds best to a different method of teaching. Auditory learners will remember information best after reciting it back to the presenter, while kinesthetic learners will jump at the chance to participate in a hands-on activity.

while this presentation is really quite in depth (74 slides) it covers some important points. Semms like something that would be interesting to share with colleagues as it really covers a number of topics that apply to modern learners.
Ivon Prefontaine, PhD's curator insight, February 25, 8:32 PM
Digital tools and the theory about using them in teaching and learning are linked to the practical implications (praxis and pedagogy) of what that means and does not mean. At the heart of it all, is the slide that says we cannot describe the future. We have never been able to, so why is that surprising us?

How to create your own iPad recording booth for the classroom.

How to create your own iPad recording booth for the classroom. | Pedagogia Infomacional | Scoop.it
The creative power of an iPad in the classroom is limitless with its ability for students to show their learning in a multitude of creative ways that look professional. My students love nothing more than to share their knowledge in the form of an iMovie or by using a digital storytelling tool such as Tellagami or Chatterpix or narrating a keynote presentation. But the number one issue we have in the classroom is the background noise when we record these presentations. There is nothing worse than having a fantastic visual product that is let down by poor audio quality, but in a noisy school situation that is a difficult proposition to overcome. So this year we are using our own homemade iPad recording booths.

UNESCO Launches Five Laws of Media and Information Literacy (MIL) — @joycevalenza NeverEndingSearch | Pedagogia Infomacional | Scoop.it
This week UNESCO launched a framework illustrating its Five Laws of Media and Information Literacy (MIL).
This global strategy marries the large, but often separated, disciplines of information literacy and media literacy and creates a common vocabulary for folks in multiple areas of knowledge to engage in conversation. It also positions these critical literacies as a combined set of competencies–knowledge, skills and attitudes–central for living and working in our world today.

Teaching Why Facts Still Matter

Teaching Why Facts Still Matter | Pedagogia Infomacional | Scoop.it
An unavoidable challenge arises when students realize that no matter how many facts support a certain conclusion, denial and dissent remain. Recently, for example, my government class discussed how, faced with a mountain of scientific data, anybody—including politicians—would refute global warming, or the role that humanity plays in its occurrence. Unfortunately, this kind of discussion leads to students’ doubting the power of truth to influence and inform wise decisions, which in turn makes them question the purpose of working hard to learn at all.
