En niños con altas capacidades, al decírselo, creen que así evitarán un bajo rendimiento en ellos, pero lo que sucede es lo contrario. Cuando los niños están seguros de obtener un buen resultado, no dudan en hacer la tarea, pero cuando no están seguros, no se esfuerzan para realizarla, sino que la rechazan.
