We need to drag out the old thinking about "city-building" from a land-use urban engineering (top-down, centrally-planned) perspective to one of creative "city-making" distinguished as ground-level, organic, and surprisingly self-organized.
In addition to her work as Curator of Nuit Blanche and Critical Resident Blogger, Megan's artistic practice investigates creative acts of identity placemaking within the digital domain. She uses the social web as a space to source and make socially useful work referencing community. This content is rendered in a variety of forms; network art, code, geo-location narrative, digital print, video, animation, sculpture or a mashable or hybridization of all of these.

Born and raised in Ottawa, based in New York, eepmon is Eric Chan at the intersection of art, design and code. Specializing in art direction, branding and consulting, his hybrid creations has found collaborations with Microsoft, MINI Cooper, Panasonic among others. A new media performer, he has shown at TEDx Toronto, hpgrp gallery New York, Yamaha Ginza Tokyo to digital art institutions across Europe. He is a recipient of a Banff Centre artist residency and his works has been acquired by the Canada Council's Art Bank. In 2012, Eric and mobile gaming company, Magmic released their first collaborative Apple iOS mobile game, "Hidden Galaxies".
Lee Jones is the founder and editor of Art & Science Journal, a biannual student-run publication and website devoted to art concerned with science and nature. Based in Ottawa, Canada, Art & Science Journal focuses on the wonder that occurs when fields collide. Lee is currently studying English and Art History at the University of Ottawa.
Ben Welland is an Ottawa based professional photographer who specializes in shooting edgy editorial portraits as well as mouth-watering food photography for local newspapers and magazines. Ben is also the owner of byfield~pitman photography, a company of Ottawa photographers who provide Ottawa brides and grooms with candid, artistic, and "cheese free" wedding photography – captured through the eyes and lenses of some of Ottawa’s finest photojournalists including Paul Galipeau, Jamie Kronick, and the “orange-loving” Ben Welland.

Dr. Andrew Pelling is a professor and Canada Research Chair, cross appointed in the department of physics and department of biology at the University of Ottawa. His lab is devoted to studying the physical properties of living cells and tissue. He explores the interface between biology, technology, art and science.
Andrew O’Malley is a multi-disciplinary artist and engineer working with algorithms and code to create interactive artworks responsive to both remote environments and the immediate surroundings, through sensors and data networks. Using diverse lighting technologies, his “data driven” artworks visually transform information, revealing participants' patterns and preferences over time.
Jeff Salmon is the co-founder of yowLAB, an Ottawa based architecture and ideas lab. yowLAB is a loose group of architects, architectural interns, graduates, designers, engineers, and people who are interested in bettering our city. Meetings are held regularly over drinks to discuss project ideas and current events. yowLAB acts as a facilitator with the goal of connecting members of Ottawa’s architecture and design community while fostering and supporting collaborations and projects.

His studio, prototypeD is a member run, not-for-profit Urban Workshop / hacker space located at 601 Bank Street, Ottawa, Ontario. pD provides members with access to workshop tools, high speed servers, work space, and access to high-tech digital fabricating equipment such as laser cutters, CNC machines, 3D printers, and an ever growing list of new equipment and resources. prototypeD brings together Ottawa's creatives, artists, hackers, students, and professionals, into a dynamic productive working environment.
