Mt. Everest has always fascinated all the people around the world. Uprising above the height of 8,848 m (29,028 ft.), it stands out to be the highest peak of the world. Mount Everest is also known by the Nepali name as Sagarmatha (Mother of the Universe) and Tibetan name as Chomolangma (Goddess Mother of the Snows). All the attempts on Everest were unsuccessful till 1953 when Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary made a successful attempt of Mt. Everest via the South Col. Though, Everest can be climbed both from the southern side Nepal and northern side Tibet. Whilst the southern approach to the mountain via the Khumbu Valley is highly popular among the climbers. Today more than 1000 people made an attempt for the expedition to the Everest every year. One should be able and ready to encounter many seen and unseen obstacles during Everest expeditions. It includes high altitude, harsh weather conditions and even sheer exhaustion. One needs to encounter with the Khumbu Icefall, the Western Camp, over the Geneva Spur to the South Col, and up the Southeast Ridge while attempting the expedition to the Everest.
