Mr W Nicholson's insight:

I adapted a training methods learning mat from PE4Learning Central Dropbox and used it with my National 5 P.E. class. It definitely helped pupils consolidate their understanding and enhanced the teaching and learning process. Check it out on my pearltrees page: http://www.pearltrees.com/#/N-u=1_1872338&N-p=110512888&N-s=1_11070941&N-f=1_11070941&N-fa=10915040 (Open the document to see the resource in its original format).

ACC Human Performance/Health Sciences: No Train No Gain - TRAINING PRINCIPLES & METHODS

ACC Human Performance/Health Sciences: No Train No Gain - TRAINING PRINCIPLES & METHODS | Physical Education | Scoop.it
Intensity- n. the extreme magnitude or amount of strength, force, energy, or feeling that something has.  The word, intensity, is commonly used by people to describe the degree to which something is challenging or difficult, just like the dictionary defines it as.  This is no different when it comes to describing a workout.  Many people run in the other direction when they hear the words, “vigorous exercise” or “intense workout”.  No pun intended.  However, in the fitness world, the word intensity is used for different purposes.  Further, the benefits of participating in regular vigorous exercise are becoming more and more apparent.
