Although Seymour Papert played a role in project based and cooperative learning, it is grounded in John Dewey work, as well. I think each generation has the ability to build on and form new ideas of what this means in meaningful ways. I found most students engaged in projects in ways that made their learning meaningful. I forgot about the tests and focused on teaching in this manner. The test results took care of themselves.
