My take: Mobile payments are crucial to underbanked countries like Kenya. For the same reason, Fundamo, the mobile payment company recently acquired by Visa in June 2011, has some 50 deployments in over 40 countries, including 27 countries in Africa and the Middle East and another 10 globally.
