Victor Mccollin's insight:
:this shows how much he meant to the franchise as well as how they have to pay to either  accomodate an unfortunate loss. Money and time is spent to either edit him into the movie or re-shoot scenes for him to be in it. This article was an insight to the complete and main focus on an actor's life in and out from a business perspective.

Victor Mccollin's curator insight, January 18, 2014 6:31 PM

this article talkes about the hazards of shooting a movie and the cost of how it effects everyone when an actor dies in the production phase of a movie and the amount of time and money is put into re-shooting the scenes with that actor in it.  The pros to having this cast insurance is it can cover the replacement production of editing, re-shoots, and stand-ins for that actor that the production has to compensate for to create a final production. The Cons to having this happen to a production , is there might not be enough time to re-shoot certain scenes in the production due to location, time of day, and money. there is also a who's fault was it factor as usual, If it proven that it was the actors fault then there my not be any money awarded, now in this case with paul alker he didnt live a dangerous life he had a crash driver who had years of experience under his belt as well as his own car garage. Where paul walker was also an experienced professional driver and numerous years of experience, as well. He was also seen in the passenger side of the vehicle, neither paul or his driver new the dark history behind that 2006 Porche carrera gt. The article stated that this vehicle aslo claimed a drivers life in the past. this article gave me alot of insight into the insurance world of the entertainment movie industry as well as the ups and downs of an actor passing away during a movie production.
