I love this idea as a creative example of how to own a market by creating a market. By being the aggregator Visual.ly wins. Spoils in this new digital economy go to the platforms and Visual.ly's creative application of that idea creates a new market where creating an infographic is easier.
The other benefit of creating a market will be pricing competition. I was quoted a pretty HUGE sum to create an infographic about a year ago. Pricing should be moderated by competition.
Some are saying the era of the infogrpahic is over killed by over saturation. I disagree. Visual presentation of data is more engaging and easier to share than white papers and reports.
