13 million people living in poverty

13 million people living in poverty | Parental Responsibility | Scoop.it
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Trussell Trust foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.

I can see that there are millions of people living in poverty just in one country. It is a result of problems like redundancy, unexpected bill on a low income etc. However, the Trussel Trust partners are helping these people by opening food banks, providing emergency food, to support the people in crisis. The number of people to live in poverty is anticipated to reach over 200,000. I think opening foodbanks is a very good way to help these people suffering and is another way to slowly escape from their problems, rather than suicide. It also makes me wonder why they anticipate an increase of people in poverty. They should think optimistically, rather then pessimistically
