Hazara outreach: PPP, Tehreek-e-Suba Hazara agree on seat adjustment

The Pakistan Peoples Party will make a seat adjustment with the Tehreek-e-Suba Hazara (TSH) and carve out a separate Hazara province from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, said the provincial minister for irrigation, Syed Ahmed Hussain Shah. Shah was speaking to participants at the stone laying ceremony of the Jhangra dam on Monday. He claimed that the PPP will be voted again into power and win a landslide victory at the polls after adjusting seats with TSH. We will make the dream of Hazara province a reality, he said.

DIG-led body formed to probe PIA workers’ killing, PA informed

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Wednesday informed the Sindh Assembly that he had set up a three-member committee being headed by a deputy inspector general of police to probe into the killing of protesting PIA employees and had told the Joint Action Committee of the PIA employees that a judicial commission could be constituted if they had no faith in policy inquiry.

CM Shahbaz to choose mayors for twin cities

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has stated that National Action Plan (NAP) is being criticized only for point-scoring.Addressing a press conference here Thursday, the Interior Minister said, “Incidents of terrorism in the country have gone down after launch of operation Zarb-e-Azb and NAP.”He said those who had never read the NAP were criticising it, adding that constitutionally law and order is the responsibility of the provinces.

ANP backs probe into attacks on APS, BKU

The Awami National Party (ANP) endorsed on Thursday a demand by grieving families for a judicial probe into terrorist attacks on Peshawar’s Army Public School and Bacha Khan University in Charsadda.ANP’s information secretary Zahid Khan said if a judicial commission could be set up to investigate the killing of Osama bin Laden why such a commission could not be formed on the two incidents.

KP govt panel examining security lapses by Charsadda varsity only

A fact-finding committee formed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on the Jan 20 Bacha Khan University Charsadda attack is tasked with looking into security lapses by the university only, disregarding those on part of the district administration, police and other government organs.The formation of the committee consisting of commissioner of Peshawar division Dr Mohammad Fakhr-i-Alam, regional police officer of Mardan range Saeed Wazir and special secretary of the higher education department Ghafoor Baig was notified by the provincial home and tribal affairs secretary on Jan 22.

‘Powerless people’ trying to hold talks with nationalists: Mengal

President of his own faction of the Balochistan National Party Akhtar Mengal has said the rulers should first get powers from certain quarters before holding talks with Baloch nationalists.Talking to journalists in the industrial town of Hub , he said the government had declared Baloch nationalists terrorists or angry Baloch leaders and wanted to bring them to the dialogue table, but they did not have powers to hold dialogue with them.

Zehri orders action against officials involved in politics

Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri has said that government employees, especially doctors, teachers and engineers, if found involved in politics would be dismissed from service.Presiding over a meeting on healthcare services and the anti-polio campaign here on Sunday, he ordered the authorities concerned to remove employees from service if they were found involved in politics.

PML-N worse than PPP in managing economy: PTI -

Citing official figures in its white paper, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf  showed that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s economic management was worse than the Pakistan Peoples Party’s.

The PTI said the present government had failed on its promises of taxing the rich, breaking the begging bowl and ending the energy crisis.
