This is great chart of how p2p lending happen. This chart if focused on SME lending in the UK. However, the same trends has happen in the USA with middle market companies. And the same trend has occurred in Drect Consumer Lending. Namely, new platforms have grown up to take the place of banks

This is a great way to understand the p2p business. By looking over the shoulder of someone investing through the two largest p2p lenders you can get a feeling for the right strategy. Also, this raises the question of how good are other p2p back office operations. Without substantial investment in systems, most p2p operations will not give the investor an adquate handle on risk and rewards
