Google Warns Against Large-Scale Guest Posting, Advertorials & "Optimized Anchor Text" In Press Releases

Google Warns Against Large-Scale Guest Posting, Advertorials & "Optimized Anchor Text" In Press Releases | Over a coffee | Scoop.it
Google has quietly updated the link schemes document under their Webmaster guidelines to add large-scale guest posting, advertorials and optimized anchor text in articles or press releases to the list of types of links that violate their guidelines.
Coffeemate49's insight:

There are so many areas now where Google's guidelines are subjectively relative rather than absolute.  So many ranking algorithm changes that favour the big multi-niche companies like Amazon, Ebay, Argos, etc and work against the small individual niche specialist companies.

Maybe they really are trying to squeeze all of the smaller companies into using Adwords to get website visitors from search.  But maybe this will worsen the search results so much that people will move away from using Google for search and thus kill Google's business.  What a wicked thought, but then every empire in history has fallen apart in the end.
