As soon as we changed the address of the blog, the old one is no longer available. We've been trying to redirect, but it's not working. We apologize in advance to all of you who will have a hard time finding us and we're hoping that you'll still follow our blog.
Two days ago our first Kickstarter campaign for Progress: Evolution of Technology has ended. The results exceeded our expectations and we would like to thank once again all our supporters - people who trusted us and helped bringing this project to life - as well as Richard Ham and Lance Myxter for reviewing Progress.
Many people label Exodus: Proxima Centauri as ameritrash, a game in which fighting is the highway to victory. Besides fighting, there are several more way of accumulating victory points and the expansion will bring a few extra. Let's discuss them one by one, highlighting the changes introduced by the expansion.
War of the Ring (second edition) is the one game I seem to never get tired of, I've been playing it regularly over the past half a year and I cannot wait to put it again on my gaming table. It has slowly made me addicted and the more I play, the more possibilities I see, more strategic decisions and more fun. So, let's take a look at the strategy, mostly from the point of view of the "good player", the guy fighting against Sauron.
It's time to reveal more details about the upcoming big expansion for Exodus: Proxima Centauri. We will do this over several articles, tackling the aspects of the enhanced game play one by one. Today I will talk about some of the new technologies.
We're in the final hours of the contest we have been running on BoardGameGeek, giving away copies ofExodus: Proxima Centauri and more. There's still time to jump in, there's nothing to lose, but in the best case scenario some games will come your way really soon... and here's the link

The top priority was to... play! I know, what else a bunch a gamers could do? This is what happened...

Alexandra Florea's insight:
2013 come with good news. We have three games already play-tested, with the graphic art ready and made into nice looking prototypes. We also booked a larger space so that we have one playing table dedicated to each game. This way everyone will have the chance of testing, enjoying and giving feedback on the game we plan to release in 2014.
I know it has only been three weeks since I last wrote about deckbuilding, but I would like to revisit the topic. This time I will not be delving deeper in the past or musing on the future of the genre, but discussing the two main types of vanilla deckbuilders present on the market: the ones where a constant pool of purchasable cards is created before the game, and the ones where cards are acquired form a changing central row and replenished whenever one is acquired by drawing from a face down deck.
Although Boardgamegeek is not the “be all end all” of gaming, it is an amazingly large community of gamers both passionate about their hobby, and ready to expand their collections. For this simple reason, placing a game in the site’s top ten is desired by both ambitious designers and prudent publishers alike. But how does one include one of their own products in the formidable company that promises prestige and profit?
Praetor is getting ready to hit the shelves of the hobby stores and to give you a hint of how is this happening, we got some images from the factory where everything is taking place. In all honesty, most manufacturers won't allow taking pictures of they most well kept secrets, but this is what we can share...
Over the past two years there was one question / suggestion which popped up almost every time people talked about Exodus: Proxima Centauri... "What about asymmetric game play, special player powers?" and we've been answering that it's planned. Well, it's time to let some details come to light. As you may already know, there are six faction fighting for dominance in the base game of Exodus. The expansion gives them names, specific features and technologies, action cards and even new ways to score Victory Points.
For the past year there was one question we had to answer over and over again, "will there be an expansion for Exodus?". I must admit that we avoided that question for a while because we were simply not able to give a straight answer. That has changed, we are actively working on an expansion for Exodus and we plan to release it in Spiel '14 Essen.
I will keep this short and simple... There are many people who bought, unboxed and played Exodus: Proxima Centauri. Recently we have developed the Revised Edition of this amazing game, without forgetting all of you who own the first edition. As a sign of appreciation, we made the Upgrade Pack which allows a transformation of the first edition into the Revised Edition.
NSKN Games has already published two games which are considered by many “heavy games” or “gamer’s games”. While we are not disputing this statement, we realized that this is also the result of misconception brought to the gaming world by the size of the respective game boxes.
