Bone fractures in children

Assez complet. Bonne présentation. MAIS, encore trop interventionniste sur les fractures du tout jeune. Pas nettement chirurgical dans la présentation des ischémies. Mon expérience (Réunion 1970-1972) et Guadeloupe (1983-2012) est nettement plus claire: indications "vasculaires" sans retard rares incontournables et opposition ferme aux abords directs et même indirects devenus aussi inutiles que routiniers par des chirurgiens SANS expérience pratique des fracture du sujet en croissance (la faute aux IVGs remboursées depuis 30 ans ?).

Le syndrome décrit par Down ou mongolisme n'est pas sans poser parfois de redoutables problèmes orthopédiques.

 

L'un de ceux que j'ai pu avoir à traiter et non des moindres est celui d'une grande fille opérée en CHU à Paris de prothèse totale de hanche, opération compliquée d'infection grave avec ventilation assistée prolongée puis à distance abcès autour de la prothèse (Charnley !).

Osteogenesis imperfecta ( OI and sometimes known as brittle bone disease, or "Lobstein syndrome") is a congenital bone disorder characterized by brittle bones that are prone to fracture. People with OI are born with defective connective tissue, or without the ability to make it, usually because of a deficiency of Type-I collagen.
