As a leadership and organizational development practitioner, I find I'm frequently asked to provide feedback, to leaders and organizations and often professionally and personally. Though I agree not all feedback should be fluffy, giving feedback in general is all about the delivery. Often, pending the delivery and if the recipient is open or not to the feedback, even the positive can sound negative. Feedback should be look at more as constitutive than positive or negative. One model I find useful is that of Edie and Charlie Seashore in their book "What Did You Say? The Art of Giving and Receiving Feedback"
