126 dinámicas de Educación Emocional.- | Organización y Futuro | Scoop.it

How to Integrate Multimedia and Writing Instruction With VR, Video and Digital Timelines - EdSurge News

The good news is there is an abundance of multimedia resources available that support the creation and sharing of student storytelling products. This short list of tools and teaching suggestions can help educators integrate a variety of writing activities into their instructional designs. All are what I call Push / Pull tools, which teachers use to push content out to students and which students can also use to create content that teachers pull back in.

To Be a Great Leader, You Have to Learn How to Delegate Well

To Be a Great Leader, You Have to Learn How to Delegate Well | Organización y Futuro | Scoop.it

One of the most difficult transitions for leaders to make is the shift from doing to leading. As a new manager you can get away with holding on to work. Peers and bosses may even admire your willingness to keep “rolling up your sleeves” to execute tactical assignments. But as your responsibilities become more complex, the difference between an effective leader and a super-sized individual contributor with a leader’s title is painfully evident.

In the short term you may have the stamina to get up earlier, stay later, and out-work the demands you face. But the inverse equation of shrinking resources and increasing demands will eventually catch up to you, and at that point how you involve others sets the ceiling of your leadership impact. The upper limit of what’s possible will increase only with each collaborator you empower to contribute their best work to your shared priorities. Likewise, your power decreases with every initiative you unnecessarily hold on to.

Andrea Ross's curator insight, October 11, 7:58 PM

Moving from individual contributor to a manager is tricky and delegating I believe is the hardest part. You never really want to fully let go - but if you don't you will struggle to empower your people. Nice little article for you. If you are a podcast fan like me then check out Manager Tools by Mark Horstman (he's an ex recruiter amongst other things) and has a great podcast on Delegation Skills and juggling those glass and rubber balls. Check it out - it will put everything into perspective.

Ending Old-School Nostalgia in Learning Spaces :: Heidi Hayes Jacobs

Ending Old-School Nostalgia in Learning Spaces :: Heidi Hayes Jacobs | Organización y Futuro | Scoop.it

8 Ways to Build a Culture of Trust Based on Harvard's Neuroscience Research

8 Ways to Build a Culture of Trust Based on Harvard's Neuroscience Research | Organización y Futuro | Scoop.it

A culture of trust yields higher engagement, happier employees, greater productivity, and higher profits. And it all starts in the brain.

Paul J. Zak, Harvard researcher, Founding Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies and Professor of Economics, Psychology and Management at Claremont Graduate University, and author of "The Trust Factor: The Science of Creating High Performing Companies," has invested decades researching the neurological connection between trust, leadership, and organizational performance.

Over his 2 decades of research, Zak discovered that "compared with people at low-trust companies, people at high-trust companies report 74% less stress, 106% more energy at work, 50% higher productivity, 13% fewer sick days, 76% more engagement, 29% more satisfaction with their lives, and 40% less burnout."

In a recent Harvard Business Research journal, Zak shared that there is a direct correlation between the amount of oxytocin a person's brain produces and the level of trust they feel in any given situation. From 10 years of research, he found that oxytocin levels significantly decrease when we feel stress.

He also found a direct link between oxytocin levels and empathy which is essential for creating trust-based relationships and trust-based organizations. The higher the oxytocin, the higher the empathy. The higher the empathy, the deeper the connection.

A 6-Year Study Reveals the Surprising Key to Team Performance (and 9 Ways to Enable It)

A 6-Year Study Reveals the Surprising Key to Team Performance (and 9 Ways to Enable It) | Organización y Futuro | Scoop.it

Psychologist John Gottman can predict whether or not a married couple will be together five years later with startling 90 percent accuracy. How does he do it?

He watches them argue.

The ability to engage in healthy, productive debate is not only essential for ensuring a long marriage--it's also the key determinant of high performing teams.

A recently released six-year study cites the ability to manage conflicting tensions as the most critical predictor of top-team performance. Berkeley research shows teams that debate their ideas have 25 percent more ideas altogether and that companies like Pixar embrace healthy debate as a vital part of their performance (in its case to make better films).

How Technology Can Expand Creativity and Innovation in Education

How Technology Can Expand Creativity and Innovation in Education | Organización y Futuro | Scoop.it

Creativity has always been a part of a successful classroom, however recent advances in technology are making it possible to increase the ability for students to use their creativity in academia. With the ability to take and store thousands of pictures and videos, and listen to music in the palms of our hands, our students have the ability to be more and more creative in their projects, assignments, as well as group and individual tasks.

Technology is part of our daily lifes, and we need to integrate it in our classroom, since foster creativity and innovation and encourage the development of new ideas that reach thousands through social media
Alexander Daron's curator insight, October 15, 11:06 AM

I chose this resource because I agree 100% with the title. When I have used different technology and different programs with my students, they love it. Students in todays society get bored sitting in class with teachers talking to them. They want to be up and moving around working with technology to help them learn. I hope that this article will prove to our teachers that they must use technology for the benefit of their students. I have been in special education classrooms where autistic students were benefiting so much from programs on the iPad. Implementing these practices is so important to our students.

Alexander Daron's curator insight, October 15, 11:42 AM

I chose this resource because students can be so creative when using technology in their education. They aren't restricted, and can create assignments or projects that make sense to them. They aren't restricted, and don't have to do exactly what the teacher tells them. I hope that this article will come true for many schools around America. Too often, teachers are afraid to let students be creative with the use of technology, because it is outside of their comfort zone to let the students venture off and create their own learning opportunities.

Supporting the development of digital skills is complex. Initiatives are often context specific and reliant on partnerships. In addition, the environment must be fertile for initiatives to flourish. Policy makers, education leaders, industry and the individual all have a role in equitable digital skills development.
